A week is not long enough!

Thank you so much for hosting us a second time. Absolutely stunning renovation and lots of space to relax. My favourite thing is to get up early and hop in the hot tub and watch the Restigouche River sweep by. It’s a wonderful choice for a small reunion or group who don’t want to be stuck in hotel rooms or thinking about what to do about every meal. Thank you again!

Hi Margot, Thanks for taking the time to write this review, I totally agree, sitting in a hot tub over looking the river, isn't a bad start to to morning at all.

Another amazing stay!

We’re sad to leave what has become one of our favourite places to stay in NB. This was our second time staying here and this time we took advantage of the activities close by. We had an amazing time skiing at Sugar Loaf and snowmobiling with Jake’s Restigouche Outdoor Adventures. While at the cottage we enjoyed family time and taking in the beautiful river views. Danny and Jo-Anne were more than accommodating and checked in to see if we needed anything. Can’t wait until next time!

Thank you for trusting us with your family March break family vacation, were always happy to see you, we look forward to hosting you again.

Beautiful Cottage with great water view

I highly recommend the Island View old church cottage. It is our second time renting it. Definitely a 5 star! It's designed to be highly functional with a large open concept and high ceiling, a great place to gather as a family. It has a warm homey atmosphere. The pictures do not do it justice. The hosts keeps it immaculate and it has everything you need. They are responsive and make you feel welcome. The scenic view of the Restigouche river is something else. We will definitely be back!

Thank you Josee for this beautiful review and your kind words, see you next year.

Dream Location

I cannot express how amazing our stay was at the the Island view cottage. The pictures on line do not do it justice, it was so beautiful and spacious. The kitchen is a dream, it had everything you needed and so many extras , if you love to cook this kitchen is a dream. We spent most of our time enjoying the deck and the views were breathtaking. The host were so kind and helpful. This is by far one of the best places I have ever stayed and I will be returning again someday soon I hope.

Thanks for your kind words, look forward to seeing you again

Hidden gem

This place was a gem! The pictures don't give it enough credit. It was even better than expected. The hosts left us a welcome bottle of wine to enjoy, they thought of every little things possible for all types of guests. It was spot clean. While it was renovated from top to bottom, you can see that they kept lots from the original and added to it's charm. Thank you for helping creating awesome memories!

Thank you Martin, we look forward to your next visit.

Rooted in the vibrant Acadian culture and breathtaking landscapes of New Brunswick, we take pride in sharing the warmth, creativity, and authenticity of our region with travelers from around the world.

Since 2019, Old Church Cottages has redefined luxury stays for adults by blending distinctive architecture, boutique-style comfort, and thoughtful privacy. In 2023, we expanded with Appalaches Domes & Spa, a nature-inspired retreat designed to help guests unwind, reconnect, and experience the beauty of the Appalachian region.

Our story continues in July 2026, with the addition of a new accommodation that will once again bring history, design, and tranquility together in a uniquely Acadian way.

As bilingual Acadian hosts, we’re passionate about breathing new life into forgotten spaces and crafting soulful places to relax, connect, and celebrate local culture. Danny’s craftsmanship and Jo-Anne’s dedication to hospitality come together in every detail — from restored churches to inspired domes — offering guests tranquil, romantic settings designed to inspire connection and peace.

We look forward to welcoming you and sharing the stories, warmth, and spirit of our Acadian community.
